Terms of business
Last updated 25 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when a practice asks for a free snapshot from Being Named, or buys an audit, a fix sprint or the monthly plan. By asking for a snapshot or paying, you agree to them. “We” and “us” means Being Named, whose details are below.
Business details
Being Named is a trading name of Connor Neary, a sole trader based in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.
Business address: Office 2130, 92 Castle Street, Belfast BT1 1HE, United Kingdom
Email: hello@beingnamed.com
Registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ZC274593
2. Business customers only
Our services are for businesses. By booking, you confirm that you’re acting for a business and not as a consumer.
3. Our services
- Snapshot (free): five patient questions about your town, asked three times each in ChatGPT and Perplexity through their developer tools, with the practices they name and the sites they cite. Provided as it is.
- Audit: forty questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers, compared with three local practices you choose or we suggest. You get a report, 15 fixes in order of importance, and a 30-minute call to go through them.
- Fix sprint: thirty days of making agreed fixes with you, such as improving profiles, setting up a way to ask patients for reviews, and writing or improving pages. We agree the list in writing before we start.
- Monthly plan: the same questions asked each month, a short report of how often you’re named, and the next fixes.
4. What we don’t promise
- AI tools, search engines and review sites are run by other companies and change without notice. We can’t guarantee that any of them will name you, how often, or in what position, or that you’ll gain patients.
- Answers vary from one ask to the next, and answers in the apps can differ from the answers our tools receive. Our findings describe what we were told, on the dates we asked.
- Changes usually take two to four months to show, and sometimes longer.
- We’re not lawyers, and nothing we provide is legal or regulatory advice.
5. Your marketing and the rules
- You stay responsible for your own marketing and for the rules that apply to it, such as those of the General Dental Council, the Care Quality Commission and the advertising codes enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK, or your state board in the US.
- We won’t write anything that advertises prescription-only medicines (such as Botox) to the public, and we’ll tell you if we think something on your site may break the rules. You approve everything before it’s published.
- We never write reviews, buy them, or ask anyone but genuine patients for them. Requests for reviews must follow each review site’s own rules.
6. What we need from you
- You confirm that you own or run the practice, or have its permission to book.
- You give us the information and access we reasonably ask for: for a fix sprint, for example, manager access to your Google Business Profile and editor access to your website. We never need access to patient records.
- You keep backups of your website and decide what to publish.
7. Timing
After you book an audit, we agree a start date with you. Your audit report is due within 7 days of that date. If we haven’t delivered it in that time, you can cancel and get a full refund. Days spent waiting for something we’ve asked you for don’t count.
8. Prices and payment
- Prices for UK practices are in pounds and for US practices in US dollars, as shown on our website. You pay in advance, by card, through Stripe.
- Prices don’t include any taxes you’re responsible for in your own country.
- The monthly plan is billed monthly in advance and renews each month until you cancel.
9. Cancelling and refunds
- Audits and fix sprints: cancel before the start date for a full refund. After we’ve started, we refund the part of the price for work we haven’t done.
- Monthly plan: cancel any time, and it stops at the end of the month you’ve paid for. We don’t refund part months.
- If we can’t do the work, we may cancel and refund you in full for work not done.
10. Your report and our materials
- Once you’ve paid, you can use your report and fix list in your business and share them with your staff and advisers.
- We keep ownership of our tools, question sets, templates and methods.
- Text we write for your website or profiles is yours once it’s paid for.
- We won’t name you as a customer, or use your practice as an example, without your permission.
11. Confidentiality
We keep information about your practice that isn’t public confidential, and use it only to provide our services.
12. Personal data
Our services use public information about your practice, and don’t need any data about your patients. If we come across any while working on your website or profiles, we won’t copy or keep it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
13. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
- Apart from that, our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- We’re not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- We’re not liable for what AI tools, search engines or review sites do or say, or for complaints about your marketing that come from content you approved.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you book applies to that booking.
15. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
